The use of indoor storage units has been increasing over the last few years. In the Autumn of 2010, Storage Wars and Auction Hunters premiered on television. Both of these shows focus on storage auctions, bringing the facilities into sight of a larger prospective base of clientele. What the shows don’t always show is the variety of storage spaces available to customers all over the country. Climate controlled mini storage, non climate controlled storage, and RV and boat storage are just some of the various kinds made available.
A climate controlled storage unit is exceptionally useful to clients living in an area that frequently experiences extreme weather. These units can be used to store items sensitive to variations in temperatures such as cigars, wines, and other perishable products. However, they can also be used to keep expensive vanity items like leathers in a climate which is adequately humid and temperate to give them a long life.
RV storage solutions, as well as those for boats, both offer services beyond their storage. Many will also repair damaged vehicles at an additional or included cost to the renter, depending on location. These storage facilities have cement floors, and are extra wide and tall to accommodate the wildly varying sizes of these transports. There is a caveat to using these facilities, however. The ship or RV must be in good running condition or stored atop a trailer to allow for their easy movement when in storage.
With Americans loving their ‘stuff’ as much as they do it’s no surprise that storage unit business continues to grow in its popularity. Storage unit rentals are most often quite affordable whether it’s climate controlled mini storage or a much larger facility for a boat. Customers should just be sure to pay their bill or they may wind up having their possessions sold on national television. Find more on this here.

I can’t imagine having so much junk that my house or apartment ceases to be enough. Have a yard sale, people! -MikeT
I actually keep a climate controlled unit for the exact purpose of housing excess cigar inventory that I don’t have room for in my shop’s humidor. Never had an issue.
